I really like the music in the game, it was very relaxing and the pixel graphics were extremely well detailed but I found this game rather confusing with a lot of learning curves. Overall, I will give this title a 5.5/10.
#MICROTOWN REVIEW PS4#
I also tested if this game supports controllers, I used a PS4 controller and the controller basically only worked to move around the map, I still had to use my mouse to select anything.

The controls are extremely limited, I wish there were ways to zoom in and out of map and a better method to move around the map like using your mouse instead of using the arrow keys on the keyboard. I also found the “Deconstruct” building feature rather annoying, what’s the point of having roads build so workers can get to places faster to gather resources if once the resource is off range you have to deconstruct the building and built it somewhere in range? I know the game is still in it’s early access but it felt extremely incomplete and I wish there were a way to single select or multiple select idle civilians and sent them to work on something, right now when you click on the idle civilian it just show that they’re idling, I had way too many bodies standing around not doing anything - only the farmers were doing something while everyone else was just standing “waiting for work” or just “idling”. There were no tutorial to guide complete newcomers to this gerne on what to do next once you’re done with the basics and the goals aren’t very clear either. I’ve decided to just start a new game, this time around it was a little better with less idle workers and things were getting done for a while but then most of the village workers went idle again.
#MICROTOWN REVIEW HOW TO#
I have been having problems with idle workers in every resource properties.ĭue to not being able to figure it out on how to get these idle workers to do something. I’ve selected the Operation Location and click on the trees - nothing happened, I had to demolish the Lumberjack property and rebuild it again, it worked for a while and then they went idle. I tried to make the 3 workers in charge of the Lumberjack property to chop more trees but they wouldn’t do it even though the Lumberjack property was within 2 block range. I started getting a lot of idle workers just standing around not doing anything. MicroTown looks like a very simple town builder simulator game at the start, but I ran into a lot of issues in the game.Īt the beginning of the game, the tutorial was helpful to newcomers and easy to follow but once the tutorial ended that’s when problems started to arrive. MicroTown is a 8-bit village builder management game developed and published by Snowy Ash Games.
